27 years after its debut, the Renault Scenic gets a radical makeover, transforming itself from an MPV to an electric crossover. “The design of the Scénic E-Tech Electric is at the service of efficiency, accessibility and sustainable integration into the environment. Designed to allow families to move freely, safely and more responsibly, it is an expression of our new design language. Its generous curves evoke vitality and humanity, while its clean, precise lines, combined with the many high-tech details, project this car into a modern, connected world,’ explains Gilles Vidal, head of design at Renault.
With a length of 4.47 metres, a width of 1.86 metres and a height of 1.57 metres, it offers great interior roominess and comfort for all occupants. In fact, the driver has a seat with a high, reassuring and safe seat, combined with the typical inclination of sedans, for greater dynamism and driving pleasure. “It is a strongly recognisable vehicle with a distinctive identity, on which new details are gradually discovered as you get closer,” explains Agneta Dahlgren, Design Project Director. At the rear there are many details that underline the modern and technological spirit of the model. Just like the front daytime running lights, the rear lights have been positioned at the ends, like two arrows, on both sides of the bodywork, emphasising the visual presence of the vehicle. When switched on, they are animated by micro-optical technology while, when switched off, they create a floating effect.
The interior design is comfort-oriented. Brightness, roominess, a warm interior and plenty of functionality to enjoy every single kilometre, without worrying about when you will arrive. This new world is proof of Scénic’s rebirth. Among the main new features is the Solarbay panoramic glass roof, developed in collaboration with Saint-Gobain. Thanks to ‘AmpliSky’ technology, this exclusive system darkens in segments on demand, using PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Cristal) technology, based on the displacement of molecules caused by an electric field. Rear seat passengers can count on the ‘ingenius’ rear armrest that optimises the on-board experience. Equipped with two removable parts that can be swivelled towards the passengers, it offers storage compartments for computers and tablets, as well as openable holders for comfortable viewing of screens.
