Hyundai Motor Group announced the creation of the Global Design Division. The new division will support the Group’s efforts in designing all-electric vehicles and future mobility solutions. Luc Donckerwolke, President of Hyundai Motor Group, will be appointed Chief Design Officer to head the new division. The designer will also retain his current role as Chief Creative Officer.
The new Global Design Division will comprise the Hyundai & Genesis Global Design Technical Unit – headed by SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Hyundai & Genesis Global Design – and the Kia Global Design Technical Unit, headed by Karim Habib, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia Global Design. In parallel with the organisational changes, a new Genesis Design Centre is established under the Hyundai & Genesis Global Design Technical Unit. Simon Loasby, Vice President, has been appointed head of the Hyundai Design Centre. Ilhun Yoon, Vice President, will lead the new Genesis Design Centre.
