The new Renault 5 has won the Car of the Year 2025 award. The award ceremony took place at the Brussels Motor Show. The French manufacturer’s electric citycar took first place with 353 votes from the jury, followed by the Kia Ev3 with 291 votes and the Citroen C3 with 215 points.

The models were voted for by a 60-member jury representing 23 European countries. This is the eighth Coty award for Renault in the history of the 62 votes since 1964. The first was the Renault 16 in 1966. Renault Scenic was voted Car of the Year in 2024. It is rare for the same brand to win the title two years in a row: the only time was Fiat with the Punto in 1995 followed by the Bravo/Brava in 1996.
