What we do know is that the new all-electric Volvo ES90 carves out a new space by eliminating possible compromises between these three segments, which puts it in a category of its own. The ES90 combines the refined elegance of a saloon, the versatility of a fastback, and the spacious interior and increased ground clearance typical of an SUV. It is a multifaceted car that does not compromise on comfort or space.
Looking at the profile of the ES90, one notices its stance characterised by a slightly higher-than-normal ground clearance to give the driver a better view of the road. The sleek roofline harmonises an elegant aesthetic with the interior space and helps reduce air resistance. The front end is distinguished by Thor’s hammer headlamp line, while the rear section is equally distinctive, with new C-shaped LED tail lamps, complemented by LED lights in the rear window, creating a welcome light sequence. When choosing the ES90, customers can choose from seven exterior colours and four wheel options ranging from 20 to 22 inches. The large tailgate makes it easy to load and unload family luggage or ski equipment. The boot offers cargo space of up to 424 litres.
Inside, the focus is on an excellent level of comfort, authentic materials and functional design in line with the Scandinavian identity and styling principles of a true Volvo. With a 3.1-metre wheelbase, the ES90 provides a very generous amount of legroom for the second-row occupants, making it particularly comfortable on the move for both adults and children.
The ES90 can also be customised with six diffuse lighting themes to promote sensory well-being and a range of upholstery options. At the centre of the dashboard is a large 14.5-inch screen that provides access to navigation, entertainment, climate control, telephone and other functions. And as an aid to finding your way around tight parking spaces, there is a new 3D display operated by a 360-degree camera, which you can use whenever you wish.
