After the Omoda 5, the Chinese brands lineup, ecently launched in Europe, expands with the arrival of a new model that sits at the top of the range, serving as the brands flagship. This is the new Omoda 9, a large SUV that focuses on an upscale look and a particularly rich set of features, making it a valid alternative for anyone in search of a spacious vehicle with premium market characteristics.

Measuring 4,77 meters in length, it features design lines that represent an evolution of the brand’s current family feeling. The high, elongated hood, combined with large 20” alloy wheels and a high beltline, give the vehicle a commanding presence. At the rear, the sloping roof, hinting at coupé styling, and the four exhaust pipes in the lower bumper (though not real) convey a strong sense of dynamism and sportiness. Inside, the perceived quality level is very high. Credit goes to the wide leather-upholstered seats with refined stitching, equipped with heating, cooling, and massage functions, as well as an advanced ambient lighting system and a highly sophisticated tech suite. This includes two 12,3” displays side by side at the top of the dashboard, offering clear and customizable graphics, along with a head-up display that also incorporates augmented reality.

About the powertrain, it features the Chinese brand’s Super Hybrid system, which consists of a 1,5 liter petrol engine and three electric motors powered by a 34,5 kWh battery. The system delivers a total output of 537 CV, ensuring impressive performance despite the vehicle’s generous dimensions. On the road, the Omoda 9 is comfortable, capable of absorbing even significant bumps thanks to electronically controlled suspension. Power delivery is immediate from the very first throttle input, and the braking, adjustable across several levels, is consistently responsive and easy to modulate. The only drawback is the steering, which feels a bit too light and lacks feedback.
