During the streaming presentation of the financial data, Volkswagen showed the first sketch of the second generation of the Amarok, the German brand’s pickup in production since 2010. The name Amarok is derived from the Inuit language terminology used by the population with the meaning of wolf. The new Amarok will be built in collaboration with Ford, sharing almost everything with the Ranger of the American brand.
Judging by what you can see from the first design, the pickup has a design composed of square edges and lines, massive and robust in the setting, as befits a vehicle in this segment. The wheel arches are curved, the rims and tires are large and the front is vertical. To underline the off-road nature of the Amarok, a red towbar has been installed in the centre of the front bumper. The side is linear with the lower part recessed and concave, given by the negative section. The second generation Amarok should arrive on the roads around 2022.
