Alfonso Albaisa, Vice President Nissan Design, launches with a video a new initiative that aims to connect the design-loving community in all parts of the world at this difficult time due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. “Draw, draw, draw. In our world, it is one of the best ways to bridge the gap between the wonderful creative impulses in our ideas and make them a reality as we face this global pandemic together.
Drawings should be shared on social networks with the hashtag #DrawDrawDrawDraw. Nissan’s designers have also created several colouring sketches representing some of the most iconic cars of the Japanese brand, from futuristic concepts to classic production cars like the Qashqai and Juke. “Our team is using this time to breathe, to draw, to dream creatively. I know that some of their best work will come from the challenges we are facing now. So we thought: why not give everyone a chance to express themselves creatively?”, Albaisa continues.
The design team will look at the various drawings on the socials and comment on them: “Don’t be surprised if you find our comments under your projects. It will be a nice moment to share”. The inspiration for this project came from Nissan’s designer Giovanny Arroba, the creative mind behind the recent Ariya Concept unveiled at the Tokyo 2019 Motor Show, a car that prefigures the first Nissan production electric suv to arrive by the end of the year.
