A top speed of over 410km/h, a highly refined aerodynamic design and racing powertrain technology are the key elements that define the Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo SV, the all-electric virtual racing car developed for the Gran Turismo video game and built to full scale as a study project. “Jaguars created for track and road racing have always shared the same DNA, whether it’s the D-type or the XKss or the I-Pace or the I-Type. So when the design team behind the Vision GT Coupé was asked to create the best electric endurance car for the Gran Turismo video game, they started working with the SV and Jaguar Racing engineers to create something very special,” says Julian Thomson, Jaguar Design Director.
“The Vision GT SV is a truly spectacular and visually captivating car that shows what is possible when the traditional boundaries that govern real-world car design are completely broken,” continues Thomson. Designed as the ultimate virtual endurance car, the Jaguar Vision GT SV pays homage to its illustrious ancestors, not only through a series of stylistic and formal references, but also in its unique livery which recalls legendary cars such as the C-type and D-type, which debuted at Le Mans in 1951 and 1954 respectively.
The lightweight, tapered composite body structure now houses four Jaguar Racing and SV-designed electric motors, which are capable of generating a maximum power output of 1,903PS (1,400kW) and an instantaneous torque of 3,360Nm. This exceptional performance exploits all the grip and driving dynamics benefits derived from the intelligent all-wheel drive and torque vectoring system. The car accelerates from 0 to 96km/h in just 1.65 seconds, reaching a top speed of over 410km/h.
