The expansion plans and presentation of new products by Vinfast, the Vietnamese manufacturer that will start selling its models in France, the Netherlands and Germany next year and could add Italy, Scandinavia, Switzerland and Austria from 2023, are going ahead. There will be two electric SUVs with which the brand will debut next year, both designed by Pininfarina: the mid-size VF e35 and the full-size seven-seater VF e36. “Pininfarina is not only responsible for creating some of the most iconic cars of all time, but has also left a significant mark on the history of the automotive industry, which VinFast hopes to emulate in the near future,” says the Vietnamese manufacturer.
The design of the VinFast VF e35 aims to achieve a combination of comfort and luxury. The VF e35 is the fourth car Pininfarina has designed for VinFast and is probably the most important given its compact proportions for the European market. The exterior expresses what VinFast calls “Dynamic Balance,” flowing lines that offer a certain dynamism to the proportions. The strongly identifiable V motif of the front end has been replicated at the rear where we find an LED light strip that crosses the model across its entire width.
The interior of the VF e35 is a combination of simplicity and comfort. The spacious cabin offers a relaxing experience. The dashboard is very clean and the fine instrumentation projected from the head up display. The infotainment system, as well as climate control and many other features of the car are controlled from a large 15.4-inch touchscreen panel located in the center of the dashboard. Styling details of the e36 have yet to be released. Vinfast has worked with a number of partners such as BMW, Bosch, Magna Steyr and Aptive to produce its models.
