Toyota presented four electric concept cars at the Tokyo Motor Show, each exploring a different market segment. The FT-3e is a next-generation concept that will enrich customers’ everyday lives with new driving experiences and personalised services based on innovative technologies. The model has an exterior design that combines advanced styling and aesthetics, keeping the lines and surfaces that make up the body as simple as possible. Digital displays running from the underside of the body to the upper door provide information including battery charge, on-board temperature and indoor air quality as the driver approaches the car.
FT-Se
The FT-Se envisions a sports car in the age of carbon neutrality and incorporates the experience gained by Gazoo Racing’s team to create ever better cars through motorsport. Wide and low proportions, together with a sleek, cutting-edge silhouette, reduce aerodynamic drag while the next-generation cockpit offers intuitive controls and an immersive driving experience. The low-profile dashboard ensures high visibility and newly designed knee padding protects the body from lateral acceleration while driving.
Land Cruiser Se
It offers performance characterised by the high levels of torque typical of electric cars, combined with an elegant and refined design. Toyota extends the Land Cruiser’s brand appeal with a three-row, seven-seat SUV that meets the diverse needs of drivers around the world. The monocoque chassis also offers manoeuvrability, responsiveness and safety when tackling rough terrain.
EPU
The Japanese manufacturer enters the world of mid-size electric pickups with a high-strength, practical yet elegant monocoque chassis. With a length of just over 5 metres and a double-cab body, the EPU’s monocoque structure also features a versatile cargo area suitable for a wide range of uses. The rear of the cab combines with the load floor to cater for different user preferences, supporting a wide range of mobility lifestyles, including outdoor activities.
