Lancia announces the return of the HF brand, the one dedicated to the sporty versions of its models that have always made fans’ hearts beat faster. “We have chosen to put the little red elephant back centre stage: a symbol for our brand that emphasises strength, reliability and is also a good luck charm,” explains Gianni Colonello, head of Lancia design. The new life of the HF brand starts with the Ypsilon, the expression of the brand’s most competitive and performance-oriented soul.
Powered by a 240 horsepower 100% electric motor, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds, the Lancia Ypsilon HF will feature a lowered stance, a widened track and aggressive, muscular forms inspired by the iconic, more radical cars that have made the history of the brand, with shapes and design at the service of performance. The interior is also dedicated, with a new bright blue technical fabric interspersed with orange tones for maximum sporty performance.
The car will make its market debut in May 2025, and after Lancia Ypsilon HF, the Gamma and Delta will also have an HF version. The Lancia Ypsilon HF will once again bear the HF logo, the historic signature of high-performance Lancia models first introduced in 1960 at the Geneva Motor Show, when a group of passionate owners of Lancia cars founded the ‘Lancia Hi-Fi’ club (Hi-Fi stands for High-Fidelity), an exclusive club dedicated to the brand’s most loyal customers and reserved for those who had bought at least six brand new Lancia cars. The HF logo then became a distinctive element of the HF Squadra Corse Lancia, founded in 1963 by Cesare Fiorio together with some drivers and passionate owners of Lancia cars, and has ‘signed’ many of the brand’s victories.
