Hyundai Motor Company has announced the appointment of Eduardo Ramírez as the new head of Hyundai Design Europe. The appointment is effective as of 1 June. Ramírez will lead the Hyundai Design Europe Centre and strengthen the competitiveness of the Korean manufacturer’s design in the rapidly evolving global automotive industry to provide, according to the statement, ‘customer-centric design innovation’.

After graduating from Coventry University and the Royal College of Art, Eduardo Ramírez started his career as an exterior designer at Audi and later at General Motors. He joined the Hyundai Design Europe Center in 2007 and was responsible for key design projects for the European market such as the i10, Kona, Bayon and Santa Fe. “He is the perfect person for the position as he understands Hyundai’s design direction that prioritises customer values, and he is the one to deliver design that meets different types of customer lifestyles while enhancing Hyundai’s heritage,” said SangYup Lee, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Design for Hyundai Genesis.
