30 years after the launch of the Audi A4, the House of the Four Rings unveils the heir to its iconic mid-range model. The new A5, offered in saloon and Avant body configurations, features all-new styling cues and a sporty design. From the first glance, the model appears more aggressive than the previous generation. The saloon variant takes up the characteristic styling cues of a coupé, primarily the steeply raked roofline and the tail section culminating in the body-integrated spoiler, while the tailgate evokes the brand’s Sportback variants. No less muscular is the station wagon version called Avant, as is the case for all Audis with this trim.

The front is dominated by the wide single frame with three-dimensional honeycomb structure, derived from Audi Sport. The headlamps are sharp, while the marked quattro blisters at the wheel arches evoke the four-ring all-wheel drive system and are inspired by the legendary Audi Ur-four. The short overhangs and long wheelbase are matched by the clean lines at the rear, distinguished by the light band that seamlessly connects the light clusters and the rectangular exhaust tailpipes.

Similarly to the Audi Q6 e-tron, the new Audi A5 adopts the second generation of Oled technology, which significantly expands the range of functions for the benefit of both individual and collective safety. The Oled rear light clusters evolve into displays: they communicate in a targeted manner with their surroundings by exploiting Car-to-X interaction and alerting other road users in advance to dangers.

Just like the exterior, the interior of the new A5 has also been completely redesigned. The dashboard is strongly characterised by the Audi Digital Stage, the digital stage of the four rings composed of the 11.9-inch virtual cockpit and the 14.5-inch display of the MMI system as well as the screen dedicated to the passenger. The MMI panoramic display, specifically, is characterised by its curved design and Oled technology. The curved shape ‘envelops’ the driver and evokes the lines of the Audi single frame, while the 10.9-inch passenger display is harmoniously integrated into the dashboard design.
