Tata Motors has announced that, as of 1 July 2024, Nicolas Proust will be the new head of Tata Motors’ design studio in Turin, Italy. Proust has been with the company for 12 years at the manufacturer’s studio in Pune, India and has been responsible for several projects such as Tiago, Tigor, Punch and the latest Harrier and Safari MCE.
A graduate of Strate College in Paris and having worked for Toyota for several years, Proust will bring his experience after years in the Indian market to the Italian team. As head of design, Nicolas will lead the design team and work with the engineering team in Italy to turn the most ambitious concepts into reality. In his team, Franco Mottura will focus on his new role as Head of Creative Design: he will lead the exterior design and take care of Advanced Design. Nicolas Proust will report directly to Aurelien Doisy, Head of Design in Europe, and will collaborate with Tata Motors’ Head of Global Design Martin Uhlarik at the strategic level.
