Todd Willing is the new head of Ford Design, effective 27 August 2024. The designer replaces Anthony Lo, who announced his departure from the company in May. Willing will be in charge of the Ford and Lincoln brands globally and was previously responsible for global design for Ford Model e. Willing started working at Ford in 2003, but his automotive journey began in high school as part of an internship programme at Ford’s Australian Design Studio. During his time at Ford, Willing played a key role in shaping the most iconic vehicles, working on products for markets around the world, with assignments in Japan, Germany, England and the United States, and also led Ford’s Asia-Pacific design studio in Melbourne, Australia.

His best-known models include the 2007 Mondeo, 2009 Fiesta, 2010 Focus and he was the chief exterior designer of the 2017 Ford GT. While director of global design for Ford Trucks and SUVs, Willing led the teams responsible for the F-150, Super Duty, Ranger, Bronco, Maverick, Explorer and Expedition vehicles. Regarding his studies, Willing holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial design from Monash University in Australia.
