Beyond Mobility: the future of Transportation Design
In celebration of the Turin Motor Show 2024, IAAD. – Institute of Applied Arts & Design – proudly presents “GARAGE IAAD. Beyond Mobility”: 46 years of expertise in Transportation Design. This event, held on September 13th and 14th at IAAD’s headquarters in Turin, offers an immersive 360-degree journey through the past, present, and future of mobility.

The experience kicks off with Sjov, a hypercar with Zenvo DNA crafted for gaming, designed by students from the Master’s in Transportation Design in partnership with the ESISTE Group. Visitors can dive into an augmented reality experience. This virtual journey, based on a life-size speedform, allows exploration of various futuristic design proposals of the car.

The tour then highlights four icons of automotive design, exhibited outdoors, each representing unique aspects of mobility across the 20th and 21st centuries. Among them are the Ferrari Dino by Aldo Brovarone and the Fiat Panda 30 by Giorgetto Giugiaro, renowned for their elegance and functionality. These are showcased alongside the legendary MV F4 Agusta and Microlino, an innovative urban electric vehicle designed by former IAAD student, Antonino Barone.

The journey culminates at “Creative Pulse”, a multimedia exhibition featuring the most notable projects from recent years, created by IAAD students in collaboration with industry giants such as Pininfarina, Lamborghini, Bertone, MG, Dallara, Suzuki, Brembo e Iveco.

The future of Transportation Design takes center stage at the roundtable event, “Visionary Roads”, featuring industry leaders such as Walter De Silva and Davide Amantea together with Nicola Danza, Andrea Mocellin e Dario Olivero moderated by Luca Borgogno. They will explore the future direction of the sector amidst significant technological shifts.
The event wraps up with Lounge: IAAD’s Designer’s Night, offering a moment to reflect on upcoming challenges while celebrating creative innovation.
