Forty-eight years after the debut of the legendary Audi 100 Avant, the new Audi A6 – based on the innovative PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) modular platform dedicated to cars with a longitudinal front combustion engine – propels the four-ring ‘family car’ concept into a new era. The new Audi A6 Avant belongs to the premium E-segment in light of its length of 4.99 metres (+6 cm compared to the previous model). The 2.93 metre wheelbase contributes to generous rear roominess, while load capacity is a maximum of 466/1,497 litres. The lines are devoted to maximum aerodynamic efficiency, so much so that it has a CX of 0.25: the best ever for a thermal Avant.
The aerodynamic efficiency of the new Audi A6 Avant is aided in particular by the air curtains, the slits at the wheel arches that help clean air flows in the flank area, and the adaptive air intakes at the front that are opened or closed when necessary by small electric motors so that the incoming air flows without turbulence.
