During the Paris Motor Show 2024, Dacia launched a competition in collaboration with three renowned design schools: ENSAAMA (Paris), Rubika (Valenciennes, Montbéliard, Montreal in Canada, Pune and Nairobi9 and Strate, école de design (Sevre). The objective was to design a new accessory from the YouClip range (Dacia’s system for securing objects in the passenger compartment) for use inside Dacia models. After the selection process, each school will be represented by at least one project in the final phase of the competition and the winner will be decided at the end of March. Here are the projects selected by each school.
“DOG SET”, Garance Probsting (ENSAAMA)
Travelling with your dog in the car has never been easier. This accessory is designed to make life easier for dog owners when travelling by bringing together three essential functions for the well-being and care of the animal. It comes as a device consisting of a bowl for feeding or hydrating the dog while travelling, a discreet, detachable and transportable compartment for storing hygienic bags for clean and responsible walking and, finally, a multifunctional hook, ideal for hanging up the leash or harness. This accessory saves space and time, as it summarises all the essentials for the dog by organising them in one easily accessible place. It can be fixed in the boot, behind the console or on the passengers’ headrests with the YouClip interface.
“Set Comfort+”, Hadrien Costrejean (ENSAAMA)
Sleeping comfortably in a car as a passenger has always been a challenge. Many people like the idea of having a pillow on board, but this object of desire can often be missing or end up on the floor being cumbersome. Set Comfort+ is an innovation that revolutionises passenger comfort. This pillow inflates easily by leaving the window ajar and using the airflow of the moving car. Once the nap is over, Comfort+ folds up and attaches behind the console or on the YouClip headrest support, a practical and smart storage solution.
“Legătură”, Hector Vanquaethem (Rubika)
‘Legătură’ means “connection” in Romanian. This accessory, whose name refers to Dacia’s Romanian origin, consists of two elements. The first, robust and technical, allows the straps to be adjusted and locked and is easily placed in the passenger compartment thanks to the YouClip attachment system. Extending the ‘connection’, ‘Legătură’ also includes two layers of flexible material with safety straps. The top layer is perforated to create more order and prevent objects from shifting around the car. By turning it upside down, it can be used as a waterproof protective layer in the boot or act as an outdoor mat. In a matter of seconds, it can also be transformed into a multifunctional bag for carrying picnics or improvising as a wood collector.
“Roadbin”, Zoé Dusollier (Strate)
RoadBin is a mini-travel bin designed for families on the move and nature-conscious adventurers. With YouClip, it is easy to fix it inside the car for flawless trips. Designed for mobility, it is practical and compact. RoadBin consists of: airtight lid to prevent odours from spreading removable side container for dustbin bags for quick and easy changing under all circumstances hooks and carabiners for maximum portability (you can attach it to your rucksack, bicycle or tent during outdoor activities). On the road or in nature, RoadBin helps keep the environment clean and leaves no trace of its passage.
