Jeep has unveiled the new Compass, the C-segment SUV that has won over 2.5 million customers worldwide since its debut in 2006. Built to symbolise the off-road capability, ruggedness and distinctive approach of the Jeep brand, the new Compass combines versatility and technology. Production and sales of the brand’s most global model will initially focus on Europe, before expanding to other markets.

The car was designed in Italy by the team led by Daniele Calonaci together with the Jeep style centre in the United States, while production will be in Melfi. The new Jeep Compass has a strong character, with squared-off volumes and a design that on the one hand captures the very essence of the brand’s heritage, and on the other intercepts innovation. The car is built on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform, designed for electrified cars in segments C and D.

Its design has been crafted to offer uncompromising performance and iconic styling. The new-generation Compass remains true to the brand’s heritage with features such as the seven-slot grille, trapezoidal wheel arches and solid reinforcements carefully integrated to honour the brand’s heritage while ensuring the vehicle’s off-road capability and distinctive look. The Compass has also been designed with functionality and safety in mind; the addition of the modular anti-scratch shield and reinforced bumpers offers enhanced protection in both urban and off-road environments. Also for optimal protection, the vehicle’s radar has been repositioned to prevent damage when driving through tight spaces or around obstacles.

The new Compass is available in six colours linked to specific natural scenery and able to evoke emotions and images associated with each geographical area. The new infotainment system features a 10-inch instrument cluster and a 16-inch infotainment display, while connected services ensure that the vehicle receives constant Over-The-Air (OTA) updates throughout its lifecycle. In addition, Level 2 autonomous driving will assist customers on long journeys as well as in busy urban areas, in complete safety. All these features will be standard across the entire range. The experience can be further enhanced with head-up displays, semi-automatic lane change and LED matrix headlights.
