Lego created ten 1:1 size Formula 1 cars that drove around the track at the Miami Grand Prix. All 20 drivers completed a lap in the top cars of their respective teams at the event’s ‘Drivers’ Parade’. The cars were designed by the design team led by Will Thorogood to celebrate the long-standing partnership between F1 and Lego.

The vehicles were created by a team of 26 Lego designers, engineers and builders in over 22,000 man hours at the brand’s factory in Kladno, Czech Republic. In almost 1:1 scale with Formula 1 single-seaters, each large model is made up of almost 400,000 bricks, weighs 1,500 kg and is capable of reaching a speed of 20 km/h, all while faithfully reproducing the intricate and unique details of a Formula 1 single-seater, from sponsor logos to Pirelli tyres. Each of the large Lego construction projects is based on the F1 Speed Champions range, unveiled late last year.
