A legendary name in the world of sports cars is back. Ferrari has unveiled the new 849 Testarossa, a super-fast two-seater coupe or spider that will replace the SF90 Stradale. The sports car was designed by the Ferrari Style Center, under the direction of Flavio Manzoni, revolutionizing the shape of the SF90 Stradale and following an even more technological and performance-oriented profile. The stylistic language leans towards an architectural and futuristic direction, with a balance between sculptural forms and graphic elements. The vertical and transverse lines create a new visual pattern, inspired by aeronautics and the Sports Prototypes of the 1970s.

The side view is characterized by the door with three-dimensional modeling derived from the main line. This element, known as the side panel, redefines the relationship between the car body and the cabin, with an internal section that achieves a three-dimensionality never before seen on a production car. The side panel is made from a single piece of aluminum alloy without any cuts or joints, creating a door that is unique in its kind and patented by Ferrari. Its distinctive feature is the use of the door as a true aerodynamic duct, which gives it a distinctive shape and architecture. A contrasting black vertical element, which integrates the intercooler air intake and an additional air intake, reinforces the overall architectural footprint, introducing the concept of three-dimensional livery. The character line extends towards the rear, connecting to a double tail inspired by the 512 S, which modifies the visual perception of the cabin, making it more compact and pushed forward.

The rear is dominated by two tail fins inspired by the 512 S, which together with an active wing form a patented system. The rear bumper features highly sculpted shapes that give the overall design a strong sporting identity. The treatment of the rear corners gives the car width, while in the center, a fluid, tucked-in section enhances the presence of two very iconic round exhaust pipes. Completing the rear is a full-width diffuser, very pronounced in the center, confirming the sporty and extreme mission of the 849 Testarossa.

The interior of the 849 Testarossa is a synthesis of the berlinetta layout with a horizontal dashboard and a single-seater cockpit. The upper part of the dashboard features plastic molding with a floating effect and vents framed by an aluminum structure that define a characteristic ‘C’ theme. Between the upper and lower sections, there is a contrasting horizontal strip that integrates the main controls and the passenger screen. The lower part of the dashboard features two architectural sails that incorporate the control functions, with the F80-inspired gate emerging in a floating position. The architecture of the central tunnel has been redesigned, distributing the secondary functions in a more rational and minimalist approach. The center tunnel sail is mirrored on the panel, housing an aluminum woofer that also incorporates the pullcap handle of the door handle. The door controls are located between the sail and the woofer, which are very well integrated.
