With the Renault Filante, the brand is opening a new chapter in its history of international expansion. Designed as the stylistic and technological flagship of the range, Filante is a strategic model in Renault’s International Game Plan 2027, which aims to strengthen the manufacturer’s presence in key markets in Asia and the Middle East. The name Filante sits at the crossroads of two great Renault legacies. First, it refers to Étoile Filante, the legendary prototype that broke several world speed records on the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1956.
In 2025, Renault revived this historic name, Filante, for an electric concept car: Filante Record 2025. With its streamlined design inspired by aeronautics, it broke an efficiency record. One of the key elements of the exterior design is the desire to reinvent the E segment, combining boldness, emotion, and technology with dynamic lines and a unique visual identity. The rear is sculpted with a strong personality, and its shapes help improve aerodynamics, increasing efficiency.
The same amazement can be found in the interior, where the French manufacturer has focused on quality materials and a wealth of technology, visually represented by three displays arranged horizontally on the dashboard. There is no shortage of space, and passengers can sit back in the SUV’s seats and adjust them to their liking. Filante also refers to a lesser-known chapter in Renault’s history: the use of the star (étoile in French) as a distinctive sign of the top-of-the-range models of the 1930s. At that time, the star indicated Renault’s most prestigious vehicles, those designed to represent French know-how among the elite and on international markets.
