IAAD – the Italian Institute of Art and Design – announces scholarships for the Bachelors course in Transportation Design, which will begin in October. The scholarships offered by the Turin-based University and dedicated to international students only, are three in all and are characterized by different types of coverage: one with 100% coverage (for a total value of € 7.300, covering the entire attendance fee) and two partial, covering 50% of attendance fee (with a value of € 3.650). To obtain scholarships and to promote its Bachelor Degree, IAAD has decided to launch a contest focusing on the reinterpretation of an iconic vehicle that has written more than a page in the history of the automotive sector: the Mini Cooper, from sixty years a UK’s symbol. It’s considered an icon of the ‘60s, an original model that constantly reinvents itself – firmly rooted in tradition but always open to change.

The applications submitted will be evaluated and selected by a jury made up of talents whose names belong to the history of the automotive sector, people like Giorgetto Giugiaro, President of the IAAD’s Transportation Design Department, and Chris Bangle, Strategic Director of the same Department, considered by far one of the most influential designers of his generation. Completing the selection panel will be Pietro Nume, Coordinator of the IAAD Masters in Transportation Design.
