Volkswagen will present the new ID.3 to the public next spring. The second generation of the ID.3 will be revised in design (the first sketches offer a first interpretation of the new version) and will open a new chapter in the history of the zero-emission model and the first Volkswagen in history to be based on the Meb platform, the one dedicated to the German group’s electrics.
The new Volkswagen ID.3 is equipped with the latest generation of software, which improves system performance and is able to receive over-the-air updates. In addition, the standard equipment has undergone an upgrade: it now includes a 12-inch (30.5 centimetres) touchscreen display, a removable boot floor and a centre console with two cup holders.
The restyling has affected the front of the model: the stylists have eliminated the large black band that was located between the bonnet and windscreen in the previous generation, while the bonnet is considerably longer. “The new ID.3 demonstrates our commitment to quality, design and sustainability. The design has matured and we have updated the materials used in the interior,” said Imelda Labbé, Volkswagen Brand Board Member for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales.
