Chrysler has unveiled the Halcyon Concept, a concept car that anticipates the electric future of the American brand of the Stellantis Group that embraces sustainability-oriented design. The Chrysler Halcyon Concept is the latest in a series of futuristic concepts that aim to represent the brand’s transformation: the Chrysler Portal Concept was unveiled in 2017, the Airflow Concept in 2022 and the Synthesis Cockpit Demonstrator in 2023.
The Halcyon Concept, designed on the Stla Large platform, offers an uncompromising, aerodynamic vision of the future exterior character of the Chrysler brand. The concept’s combination of technology and performance has been designed to give harmony to the vehicle, which has been engineered following a pure design that incorporates functional aerodynamic elements. The sculptural styling starts at the front and continues to the rear. Slim, full-width LED headlamps debuted on the Airflow Concept and give the model a distinctive road presence.
The rear also presents a unique silhouette, with a sharp line emphasising the car’s width and shoulders, while the transverse lettering on the front and the LED-illuminated Chrysler wing logo are reflected in the rear. A rear camera acts as a futuristic rear-view mirror, projecting the rear view onto the console and the car’s screen positioned just above the footrest. The interior has been designed following the principle of ‘digital detoxification’ through stress-free autonomous functionality. The car is able to take control depending on its surroundings. The interior is intimate, natural yet futuristic and uses 95 per cent sustainable materials to achieve not only harmony in motion, but harmony with the planet.
The sculpted cockpit has a full-width transparent display. Complementing the screen is a foldable 15.6-inch panel that can be rotated vertically or horizontally. The displays can be controlled via voice recognition commands, reducing the need for driver input. STLA Brain technology provides over-the-air (OTA) updates with the latest technologies and features to keep the concept up-to-date, while the Stellantis AI system allows the concept to diagnose problems and communicate OTA solutions without going to the mechanic.
