Alcantara dresses the interiors of numerous models at the Beijing Auto Show 2024. Thanks to its innovative sustainability technology and the possibility to customise it as desired, the upholstery was the choice of Hongqi, BMW, Zeekr, Bentley, Lotus Nyo and Hyundai.
Hongqi, one of China’s best-known luxury brands, presented the Hongqi Guoya to the public with a neutral-coloured Alcantara interior. At an impressive 5.35 metres long, the Guoya offers a wheelbase of 3260 mm, making it suitable for a four-seater layout with single seats in the rear.
The Geely Group has unveiled an updated version of the Zeekr 009, a zero-emission luxury MPV. The model has a delicate ice grey Alcantara laser degrade on the car’s door panel. Zeekr also unveiled the 001 FR. With a dynamic and sporty look, this crossover shooting brake coupé combines innovative styling with tailor-made interior details and workmanship. The dark grey Alcantara seats feature a central embroidered decoration in racing red. Contrasting red stitching translates into an extremely sporty tactile and aesthetic effect, emphasised by laser workmanship that not only serves an aesthetic function but also increases the seat’s breathability.
Several non-Chinese brands also brought their latest Alcantara-coated novelties. Hyundai presented its N Performance collection that uses Alcantara for interior upholstery. The interior is in carbon grey. The steering wheel is made of Alcantara for perfect grip even on the track, while the seat centre is embroidered at the top with the capital letter ‘N’ in light blue. The seat centre is divided into three vertical bands by grey stitching. Bmw has brought both the X5 and X7 with Alcantara interiors for an interior devoted to classic elegance.
