New at Polestar. Philipp Roemers has been appointed as the new head of design at the Swedish carmaker owned by the Geely group. Roemers succeeds Maximilian Missoni, who was head of styling at the Geely-owned carmaker for six years, during which time he defined the styling of the brand’s entire current model range, starting with concept cars and ending with the Polestar 3, 4, 5 and 6 production cars.
Philipp Roemers, originally from Cologne, Germany, worked as an exterior designer for the Volkswagen brand in Wolfsburg from 2005 to 2014. During that time, he contributed to models such as the seventh-generation Golf. Ten years ago, Roemers moved to Audi, where he led a team of exterior experts who worked on the design of the A3, A6 and Q8, while also helping to style the electric range consisting of the E-tron and E-tron GT. ‘Philipp’s modern approach to automotive design and expertise in the luxury and performance segment will really support us in our next step in developing our model range,’ said Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath.
