The Renault 4 Savane 4×4 Concept is a showcar built in the gentleman explorer spirit, appealing to the concepts of elegance and adventure. Synonymous with “exploration” back in the 1950s, the name Savane continued the journey in 1986 in a more jaunty, but still adventure-oriented version of the Renault 4. Precisely for this reason, the model has 15 mm more ground clearance than the standard version of the Renault 4 E-Tech Electric. It mounts tyres, still 18″, but adapted Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ with specific rims, while the front and rear track width is 10 mm wider on each side. ‘The increased ground clearance and wider track widths add to the always-on all-wheel drive to enable it to tackle even the roughest terrain,’ said Sandeep Bhambra, Director of Advanced Design and Concept-Car Ampere and Renault.

Above all, the concept is equipped with all-wheel drive that is always available thanks to the addition of a second electric motor on the rear axle. It is agile on muddy, snow-covered, untracked terrain and even off-road trails. This showcar demonstrates the full potential of the AmpR Small platform, creating a B-segment electric vehicle with all-wheel drive. Renault 4 Savane wears an all-new Jade Green body colour, the elegance of which is accentuated by the gloss black of the bumpers and wheel arches. Printed fabric motifs, based on pixel variations, are applied to the roof for an enhanced camouflage effect. The classic front and rear bumper rostrums are replaced by new 3D-printed components with shock-absorbing properties. On the sides is the specific 4Savane logo, while the tailgate features 4×4 lettering.

The interior is sophisticated, with seats made of Dark Brown refined textile fabric. On the upper part of the backrest, the tone-on-tone quilted pattern, echoing the number 4, adds a graphic touch. The backrest upholstery and side supports are complemented by elegant houndstooth motifs. Even the dashboard, upholstered in Dark Brown Textile Refinement fabric, has tone-on-tone stitching that runs horizontally across it to the driver and passenger door panels. The 4Savane logo, backlit on the dashboard fascia, is the distinctive signature of this showcar’s interior.
