‘I am deeply honoured to receive this award,’ said Donckerwolke. ‘This recognition is testament to Hyundai Motor Group’s belief in design as a driving force for innovation and identity.’ Donckerwolke joined Hyundai Motor Group in 2016 after holding senior design roles at Skoda, Audi, Lamborghini, Seat and Bentley. He became Group Chief Design Officer in 2018, further expanding his responsibilities in 2020 as Chief Creative Officer.

Peter Schreyer joined Kia in 2006 as Chief Design Officer, having started his career at Audi, before moving to Volkswagen. At Kia, Schreyer introduced a bold new design identity, redefining the brand with the now iconic “tiger nose” grille. In 2013, he was promoted to President and Chief Design Officer of Hyundai Motor Group, adding responsibility for Hyundai Motor design, where he spearheaded a revamp of the SUV range and led the design of Hyundai Motor, Kia and Genesis, strengthening their global brand identities. After his retirement at the end of 2023, Schreyer served as a mentor for students as part of the Group’s partnership with the Royal College of Art, supporting the Hyundai-Kia Design and Innovation project, the Intelligent Mobility MA Visiting Design Fellowship programme, customised professional development workshops and the Hyundai-Kia Student Awards. “It is an incredible honour to receive this award. It belongs to the many creative and dedicated teams I have had the privilege of working with, and to Hyundai Motor Group for its unwavering belief in the power of design to drive meaningful progress and change,” said Schreyer.
