The Turin Auto Show has officially announced the first edition of Piemonte Meets China – Torino Automotive Design Award, an unprecedented competition reserved for the design of Chinese cars for sale on the European market.
The award – of which Auto&Design is the media partner – is promoted by China Design Center (CDC Milano), an institution dedicated to the cooperation and cultural exchanges between Italy and China, with the aim of promoting creativity and celebrating the link between the design tradition of Piedmont and the Chinese automotive industry.
PMC-TADA is divided into five categories: Best Exterior Design, Best Interior Design, Best Human-Centric Intelligent Integration, Materials & Sustainability, and Most Innovative Design Feature.
The winning projects will be selected by a jury composed of the design managers of the major design centers in the Turin area: Joaquin Garcia, Head of Design, Italdesign; Fabrizio Giugiaro, CEO, GFG Style; Felix Kilbertus, Chief Creative Officer, Pininfarina; Samuel Chuffart, VP & Head of Design, Icona Design; Giuliano Biasio, Head of Design, Torino Design; Luciano D’Ambrosio, Founder & CEO, LDA Design; Michael Robinson, Head of Design, Blue Engineering Design; Lowie Vermeersch, Founder & Head of Design, Granstudio; Domenico Lubrano, Studio Manager, Erre Design.
The winners of the Piemonte Meets China – Torino Automotive Design Award will be announced during the award ceremony to be held on Friday 26 September, the press day of the Show, at 3.00 pm at the Palazzo Reale in Turin. The trophies, as well as the logo, are signed by Italdesign, technical partner of this award that intends to celebrate the value of automotive design as a tool for intercultural dialogue.
