Opel has unveiled the first images of the concept car it will present at the upcoming IAA Motor Show in Munich in September. It is called the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo and offers a preview of the upcoming GSE models, the German brand’s sports brand, reaffirming Opel’s commitment to the small car segment. It can be driven by everyone in one of the world’s most important driving simulators: Gran Turismo 7, coming this fall. With its design combined with a total power output of 588 kW (800 horsepower), 800 Nm of torque, and a top speed of 320 km/h, the Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo is the most powerful Opel ever designed.

The exhilarating performance is matched by the muscular and powerful appearance that demonstrates the freedom that the Stla Small platform allows in terms of design and proportions. The concept car has a footprint similar to that of a standard Corsa, but is lower and considerably wider. The overall design showcases a new, more technical interpretation of Opel’s bold and pure styling philosophy. The bodywork features sharp, precise lines combined with technical and crafted details. At the front, the latest concept from Rüsselsheim sports a new, sleek version of the Opel Vizor. The illuminated logo stands in the center of the distinctive compass, the guiding element of the design that also serves as the backbone of the car. It is flanked by characteristic light bars on the horizontal axis that end in two three-dimensional glass blocks. This principle continues at the rear, with the distinctive compass-shaped brake light created by edge lighting technology.

Inside, drivers can enjoy a detox driving experience. The elegant steering wheel offers a clear view of the most important information projected onto the head-up display: no other screens are needed. The cockpit thus offers new perspectives, while the driver’s sport seat, suspended and lightweight, also in black and bright yellow, with six-point seat belts, fully integrates the driver into the driving experience and, together with the roll bar, ensures the highest safety standards. Onboard sensors alert the driver to the presence of other vehicles around them. For example, when a vehicle enters the blind spot, a warning appears through the illuminated fabrics covering the dashboard and door inserts.
