Last year, Kia launched a new design language. Called “Opposites United,” it uses, as you might expect, contrasting shapes and proportions to create vehicles with strong personalities. In this vein, the Kia EV4 was born. Perhaps to remain even more faithful to the concept of opposites, it is available in two distinct versions: the Hatchback, a 4.43-meter two-box model, and the Fastback, a three-box model with a length of 4.73 meters.
The former will be the brand’s first electric vehicle to be produced in Europe and is aimed exclusively at European markets. The latter, on the other hand, is a true world car. Regardless of the version, the Kia EV4 has a highly recognizable front end thanks to the adoption of vertically positioned headlights and a light signature that runs horizontally across the width of the car, outlining the famous Tiger Nose in the center, which has now become a true trademark of the brand.
In profile, cleanliness prevails: the surfaces are flat, yet well-defined, and the door handles are retractable. From the side, the Hatchback and Fastback reveal two distinct personalities: the former has classic proportions, the latter a pronounced tail (the length increases by 30 centimeters), which lends a different balance to the overall appearance. Highlighting the differences are two different interpretations of the D-pillar and the different rear light designs.
Inside, the Kia EV4 welcomes you into a truly spacious cabin, thanks to a 2.82-meter wheelbase. The dashboard and trim convey a sense of sophistication, yet the forms remain clean. The front panel, which houses three monitors: instrumentation, climate control, and infotainment, is a particularly eye-catching feature. The choice to alternate touch controls with touch-sensitive buttons with haptic feedback and physical controls is (very) pleasing. The car is available with two battery sizes and four trim levels. In its most efficient version, it is the electric car with the best range ever, exceeding 625 km.
