Luc Donckerwolke does not leave the Hyundai group. The German designer resumes his career in Europe as Chief Creative Officer of the Korean group. He will work at the Hyundai Motor Europe technical centre in Frankfurt. “It is with great honour and pride that I begin this second chapter at Hyundai Motor Group to consolidate creativity,” said Donckerwolke, who resigned as Chief Creative Officer of the Korean group at the end of April for personal reasons. According to the Korean company, the designer, among other activities, will be in charge of design related communications about topics such as Genesis brand and the Ioniq range of fuel cell and electric models. He will also work with the design centres to develop the concept cars of the various Hyundai Motor Group brands.

Luc Donckerwolke arrived in Hyundai in January 2016 taking up the position of Design Senior Vice President to become Executive Vice President the following year and Chief Design Officer from November 2018 to date. Previously he was responsible for Bentley styling from 2012 to 2015, Seat styling from 2006 to 2011 and Head of Lamborghini Design from 2003 to 2006. Among the most famous models he worked on during his time with the Volkswagen group are the Audi A2, the Lamborghini Murcielago and Gallardo and the Bentley EXP 10 Speed 6 concept car.
