Renault has shown a first sketch of the interior of the Austral, the mid-size SUV that will replace the Kadjar and will arrive later this year. The designers have created the interior inspired by the new stylistic course inaugurated by the Mégane E-Tech Electric. The architecture of the dashboard is streamlined and wide, while the design at an overall level follows taut lines and angles that give the model a certain strength. The protagonist is the new OpenR multimedia system, controllable by two large screens, one of which is reserved for the instrumentation, arranged in the shape of an inverted L. According to the statement, the model’s interior storage areas have a capacity of 30 liters.

“When we created the cabin of the new Austral, the three recurring themes were a sense of space, an angular design and a protective feel. And all of this based on high quality standards. We are proud of the result: the Austral’s cabin is as comfortable as it is rich in technology. Passengers are at the center of the experience, the cabin is reassuringly slim, and they enjoy the feeling of sharing and at the same time having their own individual space,” says Agneta Dahlgren, Renault Design Project Director.
