With its long-standing popularity, the small Lancia Ypsilon continues to play a prominent role among the B-segment category. Accordingly, pending the relaunch of the brand in 2024, the Italian manufacturer continues to breathe new life to the model by introducing new special series. The latest edition is named “Alberta Ferretti”, an homage to the renown Italian fashion designer.

The new trim is distinguished by an iridescent colour named after the stylist. It blends shades of grey with pink to produce dynamic colour effects depending on the light. The main changes relate to the interior: the upholstery on the seats include a novel weave that recalls the flow of a dress, while the dashboard contains gold inserts, an allusion to the jewellery tradition.

The choice of materials and colours is a result of the collaboration between Alberta Ferretti and the Colour and Trim division of the Style Centre based in via Plava, Turin. “Working with Rossella Guasco and her team has been a stimulating experience,” recalls the fashion designer, “I found myself working in a context where the approach to design is very similar to the one I use in my atelier. The objective at the outset was to create a model designed for women, starting with the choice of colour.

This sprang from the desire to represent the multi-faceted personality of women, which is the reason we chose to blend grey and pink. I am convinced it is important that a woman feels comfortable, both when she is wearing a dress and when she is behind the wheel. The car turns into a relaxing environment surrounded by craftsmanship and quality design. Harmony and quality are, ultimately, the traits that always make all the difference.”
