A few weeks after the world premiere and at today’s BMW Group annual conference, Frank Weber, a member of the board of directors of the German premium giant, unveiled the first details of the new 7 Series flagship that will also arrive in an electric version and will be called i7. The focus is on technological aspects, a new front-end design based on the distinctive features of the latest BMWs and an interior experience consisting of prominent digital features and luxury materials.

In the BMW i7, the distinctive design elements of the round twin headlights and BMW grille have been completely reinterpreted to achieve a modern and distinctive look. Some of the distinctive styling statements are translated into luminous elements made of crystal, while the contour of the double kidney grille is illuminated. Inside, designers focused on the User Experience amplified by the latest generation of the iDrive operating system. In addition to the BMW Curved Display that dominates the dashboard, the instrument cluster houses a new light line called the “Interaction Bar” with integrated control buttons. In addition, the newly designed Sky Lounge panoramic glass roof adds brightness to the German flagship’s interior.

The final surprise is in front of the rear seats. The BMW Theater Screen, which protrudes from the roof cladding, is a 31-inch screen with a 32:9 panoramic viewing format and 8K streaming resolution. It turns the rear seats into an exclusive private movie theater where passengers can select their own personal entertainment program from a wide range of streaming offerings and enjoy watching it while being transported in the new 7 Series.
