Bmw introduces the new 7 Series, a flagship that is also available for the first time in a 100% electric version (i7). The strongly marked and expressive exterior design features of the new 7 Series reportedly reflect its technological attributes. The vertically developed front end is dominated by the large grille, which can be backlit and appears as the central element of the front end, surrounded by the new two-tier light clusters. The design of the double-kidney grille and its relationship to the headlamp compartment reflects the new styling inaugurated by the iX SUV and created by the team of Adrian Van Hooydonk and Domagoj Dukec for the premium models of the German premium manufacturer.
The imposing presence of the front end is complemented by a clear, monolithic design that also affects the profile of the new 7 Series. The external dimensions have grown proportionally in both length and height, and the front section of the car protrudes forward, increasing the model’s road presence. An impression reinforced by side windows flush with the body, a long hood and a second character line above the side skirts that rises slightly towards the rear.
The interior design is intended to reflect the balance between driving dynamics and ride comfort that distinguishes the BMW 7 Series in its latest generation. The interior has been enriched with a series of high-tech details: from the Bmw Curved Display to the Bmw Interaction Bar (making its debut on the 7 Series) to the new gear selector and, reserved for the rear seats, the Bmw Theatre Screen, a huge 31.3-inch 8K display that descends from the top of the car to entertain those sitting in the back as if it were a cinema.
The clear structure of the dashboard continues into the design of the door trim to create a harmonious connection between the surfaces around the seats. A new digital control unit can be integrated into the rear doors. This is a 5.5-inch touchscreen color display that allows passengers to select their entertainment program, picture display and volume when using the Bmw Theatre Screen and to control other functions such as audio system use, climate control, seat adjustment settings, ambient lighting and rear sun shades.
