Porsche presented the Porsche Vision 357 Speedster at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The new concept car is the sister model to the Porsche Vision 357 coupe with which the manufacturer kicked off its 75th anniversary celebrations. Aesthetically, the car is an homage to the 356, while technologically the electrically driven Porsche Vision 357 Speedster takes its cue from the 718 GT4 e-Performance. “The Porsche Vision 357 is intended as a homage to the first Porsche model line, to the sports car imagined by Ferry Porsche. And since the 356 has remained etched in the brand’s collective memory as both a convertible and a coupe, the same logic applies to the concept car: there can only be two versions,” said Michael Mauer, head of Porsche and Volkswagen Group design. “This concept car embodies the essence of our brand: driving pleasure and dynamism combined with essential aesthetics for purists. As with the Mission X, which we unveiled just a few weeks ago, this model demonstrates how Porsche’s DNA is evident even in the presence of new styling genes.”
