Lamborghini presents the Lanzador concept car at Monterey Car Week, a concrete anticipation of a future when it arrives as the fourth model of purely electric series. Designed by the Centro Stile Lamborghini led by Mitja Borkert, Lanzador prefigures an unprecedented concept of Gran Turismo 2+2 with pronounced ground clearance, clean and futuristic lines, as well as a new vision in terms of performance and experience on board, remaining consistent with the Lamborghini stylistic DNA, made of character and sportiness without compromise. The main source of inspiration for the concept car comes from the aerospace world: Borkert cites spaceship design as the starting point of the creative process, combining the volumes of a super sports car with the driving position of a driver.

The exterior design is Brave and Unexpexted, brave and unexpected, reflecting the values of the brand: the taut and clean lines take inspiration from legendary models such as Sesto Elemento, Murciélago and Countach LPI 800-4. The side view combines the single-line silhouette, a typical Lamborghini stylistic element, with a unique architecture, developed for the concept car. In the same way, the lower part of the car body is shaped according to the requirements of a newly developed aerodynamics and harmoniously integrating moving elements. With an overall height of around 1.5 metres, the Lanzador nevertheless has a sporty and muscular appearance, thanks to a body with dynamic proportions and sharp lines.

“The Lanzador is the most visionary and futuristic concept car ever made by Lamborghini, characterized by a surprising design and a new concept of beauty,” comments Mitja Borkert. “The proportions are completely new and have been designed with the intention of inaugurating a new automotive segment. The super sports car volumes are combined with a slightly raised driving position, which is reminiscent of that of Huracán Sterrato.” The short and strongly inclined front bonnet conceals a storage compartment while the large tailgate gives visibility to the large trunk. The adjustable rear seats and its compartment with variable volume, make the concept car suitable for every need. Sports equipment such as mountain bikes, racing bikes, skis or even paragliding equipment can be easily arranged.

The interior configuration follows the Lamborghini Feel like a pilot philosophy, combined with aerospace elements and taking the concept of a GT 2+2 to the next step, to create a four-seater car with a modular cockpit suitable for loading luggage or sports equipment. The driving position is outlined by a light and thin control panel, featuring iconic elements of Lamborghini design such as the Ypsilon-shaped center console. The interiors are made almost entirely of sustainable materials, all made in Italy. There are elements covered in merino wool (from a B Corporation certified company) such as dashboard, seats and door panels, while the colored thread is made of material derived from regenerated nylon and recycled plastic. Some invisible plastic elements, such as sports seat foam, are made from 3D printed recycled fibers. Carbon is another protagonist of the Lanzador, present in the center console and door panels. It is regenerated carbon, a new multi-layered composite material.
