Returning to its sporting heritage, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has decided to name its all-new Compact SUV Eclipse Cross. Befitting its sharp coupé-like contours, “Eclipse Cross” is a clear reference to the Mitsubishi Eclipse sports car sold mainly in North America between 1989 and 2012 with 1,400,000+ units produced through four successive generations.
“Eclipse Cross” also refers to the SUV nature of this new car, within a bigger ensemble of core Mitsubishi Motors ‘Sport Utility Vehicles’, a strategic direction for the Brand, especially in Europe. The red metallic color is newly developed for this new model.
