The Chinese manufacturer Aiways is preparing to unveil a concept car with architecture halfway between an SUV and a coupé at the next Geneva Motor Show. It will be called the U6ion, powered by an electric motor and built on the same platform (the More Adaptable Structure) as the U5, the zero emissions SUV of Aiways already on sale in China and also designed for Europe.

The very first sketches of the car show a robust and muscular design with edges and taut lines scattered throughout the car. Created under the guidance of Japanese designer Ken Okuyama, already head of design at Pininfarina and Chief Advisor of Aiways since March 2019, the general shapes are characterised by an L-shaped headlamp design, complete absence of the front grille, sharp front and imposing wheel arches.
