The first official images of the new limited edition Ferrari special version have been published, ahead of the world launch event which will be broadcast live on the Maranello company’s social channels on 5 May when the official name will be revealed. The model, designed by the style centre headed by Flavio Manzoni, perfectly embodies Ferrari’s sporty DNA, which is rooted in the company’s more than seventy years of experience on circuits around the world, in a perfect blend of performance, form and function. Dedicated to a small group of passionate collectors and connoisseurs of the brand’s history, it incorporates extreme engineering solutions aimed at ensuring maximum driving pleasure.

In terms of styling, the new special version is a car with its own personality, clearly distinct from the 812 Superfast on which it is based: the styling themes adopted enhance its architectural layout and dynamism, aiming to exasperate its sporty inclination. One example is the replacement of the rear window with a monolithic aluminium structure in which a series of vortex generators improves the car’s aerodynamic efficiency; this solution, which is fully integrated into the roof, also produces a continuous ridge effect that emphasises the car’s sculptural form. This theme, together with the carbon fibre blade running transversely across the front bonnet, alters the overall perception of the car’s volume: the bonnet appears shorter, accentuating its width, while the rear is more imposing.

The car’s appearance is thus more compact and racer than that of the 812 Superfast, with which it shares silhouette, proportions and formal balance. The rear spoiler also takes on a more imposing look: despite being higher, the treatments used make the transom appear very wide, almost horizontal. The architecture of the interior remains fairly faithful to that of the 812 Superfast, retaining the main perimeters and interfaces of the dashboard and door panel, including the characteristic tuning fork motif. The redesign of some elements – including the door panel itself – aimed at lightening the overall weight of the car, as well as the introduction of the gate theme on the tunnel, contribute to a more modern and sporty look for the interior, in harmony with the racing spirit of the car.
