Kia has unveiled the first teasers of the new Sportage, which will be presented in July in South Korea and in September in its variant dedicated exclusively to the European market. The Sportage design fully expresses Kia’s new design language – Opposites United – revealed earlier this year and inaugurated by the electric EV6.

According to the Korean manufacturer, the first images of the Sportage show a prominent and stylistically avant-garde presence, paying homage to simplicity. “Taking inspiration from the environment around us, the design aims to enhance natural shapes and proportions, masterfully blending them with elements of modernity, so the new Sportage changes the rules of design with a strong characterful and contemporary exterior, and a detailed and avant-garde interior,” said Karim Habib, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Design Center.

Like the exterior, the interior has also undergone a revolution. The general layout follows that seen on the Kia EV6: the scene is dominated by the large curved panel that encloses the digital instrumentation and infotainment screen. The stylists opted for a minimalist, high-tech interior design.
