Yanfeng has unveiled the XiM23, a concept car that aims to represent its vision of luxury for the future. “When discussing how luxury will evolve in discussions with our customers, two schools of thought emerge,” said Tim Shih, Vice President of Design and User Experience at Yanfeng Technology. “The first focuses on digital technology driving the user experience, while the second relies on traditional symbols of luxury, such as fine materials and finishes. What our research revealed and what we wanted to explore with the XiM23 – is that true luxury is dynamic combination of both solutions to create holistic and highly personalised experiences.”

Connected to a smartphone app, the XiM23 recognises passengers and adapts its settings to the preferences indicated by the driver. When approaching the car, the front seats rotate and the rear seats slide forward to facilitate entry, welcoming the occupants. This first experience, known as ‘Calm Mode’, is visually simple and elegant. If, on the other hand, users desire the more interactive experience of ‘Rich Mode’, they will witness a radical change in the interior. Lighting tones are transformed, while the instrument panel display is raised from 50 to 100 mm, extending completely and providing additional assistance, personalisation and comfort options for all passengers.
