A highly efficient sedan for long journeys with zero emissions. Changan’s Deepal SL03 is the first car designed following the stylistic features of the new strategic and design plan called ‘Vast Ocean’. The car won the Reddot Product Design Award 2023 and was born from the collaboration of Changan’s style centres in China (Chongqing), Italy (Turin) and Japan (Yokohama).

According to the Chinese manufacturer, the Deepal SL03 is a new starting point for Changan and a new departure in its design. The team working in the brand’s style centres globally numbers more than 600 designers from 24 countries. The sedan is offered in three options: 100% electric, hybrid or hydrogen. The electric version (the battery is produced by CATL) is equipped with a single 218-horsepower electric motor and has a range of up to 700 kilometres.

The hybrid variant has a 1.5-litre petrol engine and an electric motor for a combined output of 258 horsepower. The exterior design is defined by sharp surfaces and specially designed volumes for low air resistance. The research resulted in a Cx coefficient of 0.23, while the declared energy consumption for the electric version is 12.3 kWh per 100 kilometres. The Chinese manufacturer has packed the model with technology. The model is equipped with 27 sensors that allow level 4 autonomy driving wherever possible.
