Last October, Thierry Metroz, head of the style centre of “le plus chic” French brand, had announced: “In spring we will unveil novelties that will leave you speechless. We are conducting very advanced research on the interior, in areas not necessarily related to trim, as would be our tradition”. So, as promised, now is the time to get to discover an intriguing new project, still at the maquette stage and used so far for the team’s studies, but for that very reason harbinger of developments in excellence.

It is a cockpit initially capable of impressing thanks to the intense peacock blue hue “of a satin fabric that we are trying to industrialise”, reveals Metroz, but then truly capable of pushing towards a revolutionary vision. In fact, a large, completely smooth surface unfolds on the dashboard, free of screens, onto which the controls are projected by a small element placed on the cockpit’s roof. “This eliminates all physical buttons, but also displays, redefining the “command bridge” approach of recent years. What’s more, in the future, the projection will come from the rear of the complex, under the windscreen, further improving accuracy”.

Accompanying this very clean and scenic layout are two Plexiglas side panels for secondary functions “which may disappear during the next stages of refinement”, unlike the small central plate, between the seats, which is ready to become a soon to be introduced tactile surface.

That’s not all: the DS proposal anticipates an extraordinary audio system with a single loudspeaker that spreads sound with an enveloping effect and is integrated into the floor, naturally without a transmission tunnel because the structure has been imagined on an electric architecture. But Metroz, still not satisfied, foresees further major surprises… for the exterior. The date? This time in October, but in 2023.
