An ID.7, but station wagon. Volkswagen presents the ID.7 Tourer, a hatchback version of the ID.7 electric saloon. The two models differ markedly in the rear of the bodywork: the new ID.7 Tourer features a roofline that juts back between the C and D pillars, increasing the car’s height. Thanks to the longer roofline and the more inclined tailgate, the ID.7 Tourer offers even greater boot capacity. The new evolutionary level of the ID. design can be seen in particular in the front end, which is also noticeably more slender and is characterised by a high degree of precision and quality. In addition, the now slimmer headlamps with their new modules echo human features even more.

The side view is characterised by the long roof line: visually, the line extending to the roof spoiler reflects the dynamic proportions of the new Volkswagen. The development of the side lines is accentuated by the black roof spoiler with its aerodynamic flat profile. The characteristic line below the base of the window with a pronounced ‘cut’ gives the silhouette of the ID.7 Tourer a strong positive energy. The sloping tailgate gives the car a distinctive look and a larger boot. The horizontal orientation of the tail gives it a vigorous and imposing appearance. This effect is reinforced by the striking LED light band (optional LED rear light clusters with animated brake light and dynamic direction indicators). Depending on equipment, the VW logo in the LED crossbar is also illuminated. The maximum load volume, with five people on board and load up to the height of the rear sofa backrest, increases to 605 litres.

The interior echoes the design of the saloon version. Both models feature a head-up display with augmented reality as standard. This projects essential driving information into the driver’s field of vision, so that he does not have to take his eyes off the road. At the same time, the AR head-up display changes the architecture of the cockpit, in that the almost superfluous classic instrumentation has become much smaller, allowing the driver to focus his or her gaze even more closely on the AR head-up display and the traffic.
