Renault has unveiled the Symbioz, the heir to the 1965 Renault 16 as it embraces the same innovative spirit and concept of a ‘car for living’ dedicated to families. The Symbioz is a C-segment SUV designed for families looking for spaciousness, modularity, modernity and efficiency but also for company fleets. “Its design combines sensual volumes and dynamic lines, treated with finesse and precision. With a well-balanced profile, Symbioz exudes strength and technicality while promising great on-board roominess,” explains Gilles Vidal, head of design at Renault.

Designed on the elongated CMF-B platform of the Clio and Captur (B segment) as well as the Arkana (C segment), Symbioz has balanced proportions. The rear overhang, which ensures boot volume, gives fluidity to the overall lines. The rear is balanced by the modern, assertive front end, where the high horizontal bonnet meets the verticalised front end. The sculptural lines of Renault’s new styling language, visible at the front and rear of Symbioz, frame the sides. The front and rear are characterised by pronounced edges that, when hit by light, structure the volumes with facets, giving the shapes a certain refinement.

The cabin of the Symbioz shares the dashboard structure with the Captur. The Iconic version is upholstered with specific, modern materials. The upper fascia is covered with special soft-touch material in the Techno version, motifs in blue tones in the esprit Alpine version and a faded brushed aluminium effect in the Iconic version. The lower fascia is covered with special sports fabric in the esprit Alpine version and granular coated fabric (TEP) embellished with stitching in the Iconic version. Starting with the techno version, the Symbioz is equipped with the OpenR Link multimedia system with integrated Google, based on Android Automotive 12, to assist the customer in his or her daily life with services that adapt to all connectivity needs.
