Lexus has unveiled the TZ, a premium six-seat electric SUV. Inspired by Lexus’s new “Discover” brand vision and the principle of “imitate no one,” the TZ is designed around the concept of the Driving Lounge, a fusion of a relaxing cabin and dynamic performance to offer a high-end travel experience for everyone—passengers and driver alike. The Driving Lounge concept aims to create a space and atmosphere that promote relaxation and comfort in the cabin, enhanced by a large panoramic roof that extends over all three rows of seats. The sense of space and the relaxing, comfortable atmosphere inside reflect the Zen-like tranquility found in traditional Japanese homes and architecture.

The TZ’s design blends simplicity with minimalism, embodying the distinctive presence and character that are the hallmarks of Lexus. In addition to being refined and elegant, the styling features finely tuned aerodynamic details designed for maximum fuel efficiency. The TZ’s interior offers a sophisticated atmosphere, a true “driving lounge” that provides extreme comfort, silence, and luxurious details, inspired by the principles of hospitality and craftsmanship of the Takumi masters. It is a space where all occupants can relax, enjoying the comfortable ride typical of a BEV, isolated from the disturbances of road noise and wind noise.

The long wheelbase and the battery compartment located under the floor ensure ample space to comfortably accommodate six passengers arranged in three rows of seats. The second row features individual seats, while the third row provides ample headroom and legroom for all occupants. The absence of a fuel tank allows the seats to be positioned lower, so that even the tallest adults can sit and travel in maximum comfort, while also facilitating access to the rear seats thanks to switches to fold the outer seats of the second row forward, special door sills, and grab handles.

Up front, the driver and front passenger seats are of a new generation, featuring a lightweight structure with separate modules. This creates a sleek profile and a sculpted appearance, while offering greater support and comfort. The front and second-row seats come with built-in heating and ventilation, with heating available for all seats even in the third-row version—a rare feature in six- or seven-seat SUVs. For added comfort, pouf-style leg rests are also available for first- and second-row passengers, with dedicated heating for the driver’s and front passenger’s legs, working in conjunction with the climate control system to provide energy-efficient heating, helping to maximize the vehicle’s range.
