Gilles Vidal lands at Renault design. The former head of Peugeot design, recently replaced by Matthias Hossann, will join from November 2020 Laurens van den Acker and the newly hired Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos, former head of Seat design and in charge since October 1. According to a source familiar with the matter, Vidal could be appointed head of Renault Design, while Mesonero-Romanos could play the same role for the Dacia brand.

Vidal has directed the Peugeot brand’s design centre for over 10 years and has spent almost all of his career in the Psa Groupe (over 25 years). Before becoming head of Peugeot design, Vidal was the brand Head of Concept Cars. During his long career Vidal designed successful models, from the 3008, Car of the Year 2017 that set a new design course for the Peugeot brand, to the compact 208, Car of the Year 2020.
